Rebecca Purdom:

Rebecca Purdom

Clinic Manager

Rebecca is our acting practice manager and has been working with Aldor since 2006.  She is crazy about almost any animal including reptiles, amphibians and rabbits but dogs are number one!  When not busy at her second home (Aldor) you might find her hiking or on the road to and from the Okanagan.  Full of useless animal facts she always enjoys learning and teaching anything about animals!  Go ahead, try and stump her!

Ali

Ali Mirzaei

Veterinarian Technician

I’m Ali Mirzaei, a dedicated individual with a passion for animal care. Armed with a Veterinarian Doctoral degree, I am currently in the process of updating my skills through ongoing studies. As I pursue further knowledge in the field, I work diligently as a Veterinarian Technician at Aldor vet clinic.

Originally from Iran, I embarked on a new chapter in my life by immigrating to Canada in 2022. This multicultural experience has enriched my perspective on animal welfare and healthcare.

On a personal note, I share my life with Lady, my beloved English Cocker Spaniel who is now 4 years old. Lady brings immense joy to my life, and caring for her has deepened my understanding and commitment to providing the best possible care for all animals.

Chanchal joined the aldor team part-time in May of 2023. Along with working at Aldor, she continues to grow her animal care skills as a volunteer at O.W.L in Ladner B.C. All the way from little sawhet owls to hawks and eagles, she sees them all and loves to tell you all their amazing stories! When she is not working, she enjoys baking vegan treats and music, pursuing her photography business, and getting dragged outside by her Australian Kelpie Mocha for his agility training.

Minka

Minka

Our Feline Survivor

Minka's journey began in the fall of 2010 when she wandered into our lives as an adult stray cat, her origins shrouded in mystery.  With no identifications to trace back to an owner and none of the local shelters able to find any leads, she found solace in the company of Dr. Pfaender's son, Lucas. Taking her under our care, we provided her with the necessary medical attention including exams, parasite control, and general treatment.

It quickly became apparent that Minka had recently become a mother, a testament to her deep survival instinct, she soon brought her two precious kittens to our doorstep.  With care and compassion, we nursed both Minka and her kittens.  When they were ready to embark on their own journeys, the kittens found loving homes with clients.  We spayed Minka and provided her the option to come and go as she pleased.  Her decision was clear – she chose to make our clinic her forever home.

Monkey

Monkey

The Braveheart Kitten

In September 2023, amidst a litter of adorable kittens, one little soul stood out – Monkey.  His breeder, concerned about his abnormal eye development, sought our help. Diagnosed with micropthalmia, a condition characterized by abnormally small, deformed eyes, Monkey faced challenges from the start.  His breeder 's love and dedication knew no bounds, but finding a home that could meet Monkey's unique needs proved challenging.

As Monkey's eyes began to deteriorate, we knew we could help him and provide for his needs so we decided to welcome him into our clinic family.  At just 5 ½ months old, Monkey underwent surgery to remove both his eyes.  Miraculously, he emerged from the procedure with newfound vigor, his pain immediately reduced his playful spirit reemerged just two hours after surgery!  With ongoing care and support, Monkey continues to inspire us with his resilience and unwavering zest for life, his spirit truly shines through the darkness.
